Glassware, Part 1
February 10, 2013
Own an empty cabinet? If you do, by all means, purchase it all. If space is limited, buy an empty cabinet... or at least get the bare bones. So you can get started, here are the very basics:
- A short glass, such as a rocks glass or old-fashioned glass.
- A tall glass, such as a Collins glass, or highball.
- Wine glass. There are two basic types, red and white. You can purchase basic stemmed glasses that supposedly work for both but oenophiles (wine snobs) might not be impressed. For Daily Toast purposes, you probably won't need these very often. We focus on mixed drinks, but you never know...
Purchase six or eight of each glass to begin. For the not-so-basics, see stay tuned for Glassware, Part 2.
