Tipsy's Tips: Mixers and Garnishes, Part 1
January 29, 2012
Congratulations! You get to go grocery shopping, and won't even need to worry about getting carded! These are some common ingredients for cocktails:
- Club soda and tonic water
- Sodas (lemon and cola flavors)
- Juices (tomato, orange, cranberry, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, etc.)
- Milk (also cream, half and half)
- Fruit (lemon, lime, orange, maraschino cherries)
- Grenadine
- Sugar, salt, and pepper
Worried about keeping all that on hand? Purchase small containers of the sodas and juices. Some juices you can buy frozen and keep in the freezer. Fresh fruit you should keep on hand to prevent scurvy, anyway. For more not-so-basic Mixers and Garnishes, see Part 2.
